Buzzwords used by Anne Wintour to describe the Gucci pre-fall collection by Alessandro Michele.

Superyoung – Gucci SS16.

By the looks of the just-released pre-fall campaign, shot by Glen Luchford and styled by Jane How, Alessandro Michele is still gleaning inspiration from birds of all sorts, as a flock of pale pink flamingos takes center stage in the images, nearly outshining a crew of up-and-coming faces that includes Nicole Atieno, Polina Oganicheva, Lia Pavlova and more.

Set inside a glass, tropical aviary filled with wild plants — an homage to Gucci’s flora-and-fauna-based prints — models mingle with the creatures wearing pieces that play into this nature motif: flower-print suits, dresses embroidered with butterflies and ladybugs, loafers adorned with snakes, etc.

Of course, in true Michele fashion, there’s a heavy geek-chic element provided by the piles of vintage books, as well as the mismatched furniture and rugs throughout that have become brand signatures in recent seasons.

Berlin - city of 70s

Gucci city photoshootBerlin might not seem like the most luxurious destination on the planet, but given that the city was essentially frozen in time between 1961 and 1989, it’s a pretty fitting location for Alessandro Michele’s new, ’70s-tinged vision of Gucci.

The luxury house’s Spring 2016 campaign is shot on location at some of the German capital’s Cold War-era spots, and sees a troupe of youthful models decked out in the brand’s flamboyant, vintage-themed pieces, while clutching peacocks and riding on skateboards (as you do).
